5 Makeup Trends We’ll See More of This 2019

The new year has finally come, bringing along with it a whole new batch of beauty trends. In the previous years, we’ve witnessed the rise of the eyebrows, the magic of contouring, the nude and matte lipsticks, cut-crease eyeshadows, highlighting, and much more.

A lot of these have stayed strong in the world of cosmetics, the fashion industry, the Hollywood industry, and even in an ordinary woman’s day to day routine.

However, that doesn’t mean that we, especially the women, should limit ourselves to the trends of the previous years. Just as art is limitless, so is the world of makeup and beauty.

If you’re looking for in need of ways you can spice up your looks this 2019, here are makeup trends that you should try out:

1. Stained Lips

We all remember how much of a big hit the liquid lipsticks were because of their full coverage. To further enhance its appearance, there were also lip pencils to perfect the outline.

However, the stained lips are the complete opposite. Stained lips are focused more on giving the lips’ outline a softer, more blurred edge. The color is then more concentrated on the inner line of the lips. If you’re having a hard time picturing out how it looks like, picture the aftermath of your lips when your lipstick blotches off. For this reason, stained lips can be best achieved with colors such as red or pink.

2. Soft Contour

The days where women wanted heavily contoured their faces like the Kardashians are slowly going out of trend. This year, what’s in are soft contours. Sure, people will still highlight and contour. However, a subtle contour is becoming in trend. It’s best for girls who want to sculpt their face for everyday makeup without looking too extra.

3. Glossy Lips

Matte and nude lipsticks are still in trend this year. However, glossy lips, just like in the 2000s, are making a comeback this year. While some of us have already witnessed this trend at their peak years ago, seeing them again these days is surely a fresh and rehydrating sight form the dry lips.

4. Glitter Shadows

Just like matte lip colors, matte eyeshadows may also be overtaken in the trend by shimmery and glittery eyeshadows. They’re also easier to apply since the glitter and shimmer are all you need to pull it off, unlike matte shadows which need two or more colors and a lot of blending and brushes.

5. Unique Eyeliner

Are you tired of the long and tedious process of putting on winged or cat eyeliner? 2019 is the year for you to experiment with unique eyeliner shapes and colors! If you’re confident, you can choose bright colors like white and even orange to draw lines above your lids and even your crease!

These five are just some of the trends and there are so much more that will probably make its way this year. There may also be crazier trends out there. However, these five are easily acceptable and doable should you find other trends too wild for your taste.
